CCHERS is also providing high school students with an introduction to potential careers in the health professions.
The Health Careers Academy, which has been designated a Horace Mann Charter School by the Massachusetts Department of Education, is located on the campus of Northeastern University, and has an enrollment of 170 students in grades 9-12.
The Academy combines a strong curriculum in health, science and math with a commitment to career exploration and personal development.
Upon graduation students are prepared to enter college in pursuit of careers in the health professions. Internships, mentoring and job shadowing opportunities are provided by CCHERS partner organizations. The Health Careers Academy graduated its first class in June of 1999.
