Family Advocates:

CAP’s Family Advocates are located in six different community health centers serving the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, South Boston, and the surrounding areas.  The Advocates provide free and confidential services to survivors of domestic violence and their families. Our Advocates:

  • Offer crisis intervention and support,
  • Conduct risk assessments and work to develop safety plans for victims and their children,
  • Accompany victims to court and/or connect with Victim Witness Advocates regarding prosecution and to obtain restraining orders and/or prosecute,
  • Provide assistance in obtaining medical care, mental health counseling, social support, and other services,
  • Assist in accessing shelter and housing, emergency food, legal services, childcare, and victim compensation, and
  • Help victims connect with others for peer support through education and support groups.

Outreach & Education Coordinator:

The Community Outreach Coordinator provides a variety of outreach presentations about domestic violence and available services, as well as training, technical assistance, and consultation to other community health centers, community organizations, businesses, colleges and universities, law enforcement, and governmental service providers to help strengthen their response to dating and domestic violence.

We also offer psycho-educational groups for adults and teens about healthy relationships, dating, and domestic violence.
