CAP conducts an ongoing cell phone donation drive throughout the year. We welcome donations of old/used cell phones (with or without chargers).  Cell phones can be dropped off with our Advocates at any of our six CAP partnership community health centers or at
CAP's administrative office, or picked up.

Donated phones are used in one of two ways:  A portion of the used phones are given to Verizon Wireless which recycles the phones and provides our program with new wireless phones.  These wireless phones are then provided to victims of domestic violence who can use them to contact 911 or the MA Statewide Domestic Violence Hotline as well as for accessing services. 

In addition, a portion of the donated phones are sent to Shelter Alliance, a socially responsible cell phone recycling program.  The funds raised from Shelter Alliance for the donated phones support the Community Advocacy Program’s service for survivors of dating and domestic violence.
